The Family Be service delivers therapy and support for children and their families. Victoria Blackwell is an independent practitioner who uses the knowledge and support from a wider network, as well as good quality supervision, to provide an integrated, needs-led approach, that combines a variety of therapeutic practices. Using assessment skills and creativity, I have been able to provide therapy that meets the needs of children independently, or if more appropriate, as a family. I am able to combine knowledge of different approaches and can use them effectively, in terms of attachment, trauma, psycho-development, family systemic, behavioural/cognitive. The techniques include, Theraplay, Play therapy, Art therapy and Hypnotherapy and conventional talking style therapy.
About me – Victoria Blackwell
I am an Advanced Trainee Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and a Certified Theraplay Practitioner. My therapeutic role originated as a Social Worker, primarily working with families whose children have been adopted. I have further developed a private practice, where I provide clinical therapeutic interventions to children and families, who have varied backgrounds and family systems. I have extensive knowledge of working with fostered and adopted children, as well as birth families. I have worked with children with a range of different needs within the mental health field including, PTSD, ADHD, AFS, Anxiety disorder, GDD. I believe it is important to work with the whole family system when working with children and have worked with families in this way for 10 years.Victoria Blackwell
